Aoba Shogi Dojo: Tanabata tournament

A few weeks ago I attend to a shogi tournament at the Aoba shogi dojo. This tournament was called Tanabata because the day before many cities had this celebration. Tanabata (七夕, meaning “Evening of the seventh”), also known as the Star Festival, is a Japanese festival originating from the Chinese Qixi Festival.[1] It celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi (represented by the stars Vega and Altair respectively). Aoba Shogi Dojo

On Saturday, November 5, I went to the opening ceremony of the new Yokohama Shogi dojo named Aoba. This dojo is run by the professional Shogi player Moriuchi Toshiyuki. The day of the opening was attended by Moriuchi in addition to the player Kagawa Manao who offered a session of simultaneous games in which I had the opportunity to participate.
